Burning a candle is easy
for everyone, but in fact there are so many practical experiments or activities
which one do with candles and observe while burning the candles. We all burn
candles in birthdays, parties, give to other in the form of gift, but we don’t
understand much about it. Research will done by starting with questions like
what will happen if candle do not burn in first attempt and so on. By thinking
different question related to burning candles, students experiments from basic
to advance level for that most important one require is zeal and enthusiasm to
learn. I see so many researchers are doing research in candles. From school to
college, there are many projects in candle too that gives one person insight
into the properties of fire, wax, heat, temperature, fragrance etc. Burning
candles is fun learning experience if we do safely and scientifically.
Some basic activities one
do at their home to learn science behind candle burning:
· First
made the candles from different types of wax includes paraffin wax, soy wax,
bee wax or purchase different types of candles from market or order from our
site pravii.co.in in a reasonable price. And observe that different candles burn
differently?
· Second
take the candles of different color and observe that do different colors burns
at different rates? Note take all the candles of same size means same gm. You
will also notice that burning time of each candles of different colors.
· Do frozen candles burn
faster or slower than room temperature candles? Measure the temperatures of
candles and record how long it takes them to burn a certain amount. Try both
frozen and chilled candles as well as room temperature candles and candles
warmed slightly in the oven.
· You can also observe
that what the effect of wick size is. What
happen if wick size is small, whether wick changes candle flame or not, what is
the appropriate wick size to burn candle up to last. For this record
measurement and observation of the resulting flame. And make a report and
publish the technical report.
· Does candle size
affect oxygen consumption? Enclose a candle in a jar and record how long it
takes to consume all the oxygen, then repeat for different sizes or shapes of
candles.
Some advance level experiment with candle:
·
What is the
composition of candle soot? Burn different candles and collect the resulting
soot on sterile papers, then chemically analyze the soot to determine its
components.
· How do burning candles affect air quality? Use air testers to measure pollutants before and after burning candles in a closed environment. Consider conducting multiple tests using different types of candles.
Conduct the experiment safely
Doing experiment is
always fun and experiencing but while conducting experiments we should always
follows certain rules and precautions.
·
Use a fireproof
surface and appropriate holders for all candles.
·
Have a fully charged
fire extinguisher nearby and understand how to use it properly.
·
Do not burn candles
near other combustible materials, such as papers or curtains.
·
Always use proper
equipment when taking measurements, such as high heat thermometers for
measuring flame temperature.
·
Only conduct open
flame experiments under attentive adult supervision.

of different colors and fragrance, please visit our site and order at very very
affordable cost.
